JAILED: Sneak-in burglar climbed through vulnerable woman's bedroom window to steal laptop

A SNEAK-IN burglar who left an ill and vulnerable woman devastated when he climbed through her bedroom window to steal a laptop computer has been jailed for two years.
Rizwan Hanif's victim, who suffers from chronic lung disease and is virtually housebound, kept her window open to help make her feel part of the local community, Bradford CrownCourt heard.
She was now more isolated and a prisoner in her own home, prosecutor Duncan Ritchie said yesterday.
Hanif, 27, of Carlisle Place, Manningham, Bradford, pleaded guilty to burglary on October 1 last year.
Mr Ritchie said the woman was in another part of her flat when Hanif climbed in through her bedroom window and made off with her computer.
He was seen running away with it and arrested after his fingerprints were found at the scene.
While on bail, he committed a third breach of a restraining order by going round to his brother's home in Carlisle Street, Manningham, at 11.45pm on November 22.
Hanif, who had problems with drugs and mental health issues, was barred from the address, and the street, after causing trouble in the past, Mr Ritchie said.
He knocked on the door and "shouted and swore in a manic fashion."
