BREAKING: Woman stabbed in back in Bradford street

The police cordon in Keighley Road, Frizinghall

A WOMAN has been stabbed in a Bradford street today.

Police were called by paramedics to Keighley Road, Frizinghall, shortly after 10am where the woman, who is in her 30s, was found with a stab wound to her back.

Bystanders reported hearing screaming from the woman, who had a pram with a baby in.

She has been taken to hospital although the injury is not believed to be life threatening, said a West Yorkshire Police spokesman.

Officers have arrested a 52-year-old woman on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A knife has been recovered.

The incident took place in the car park of The Parkside Centre on Keighley Road.

Saj Khan, deputy manager of the Sainsbury's Local store at the complex, said he heard "screaming" as he was bringing in a delivery from a lorry in the car park.

"I couldn't see because the wagon was in front of me, but I heard screaming and thought what's going on?

"I saw a crowd of people around the woman, and she had a pram with her baby in, which is only three or four months old.

"I took the phone off her and spoke to paramedics to give them directions.

"I brought the pram and the baby inside the shop.

"I know her, she's a regular customer.

"I only saw the other woman from a distance. She didn't run off at first, she was just walking normal like nothing had happened. People in the car park who witnesses it said it was her who had stabbed her.

"She had disappeared by the time the police arrived, but people have said she was tasered further down the road and then caught.
