Family's devastation as teenager arrested on suspicion of stealing Issac Brocklehurst funeral cash

THE family of Issac Brocklehurst is "heartbroken" and "devastated" after money raised towards paying for his funeral was allegedly stolen.
A 19-year-old woman from Bradford was arrested yesterday on suspicion of pocketing £1,320 from funds earmarked for the toddler's send-off.
Two-year-old Issac, of Thursby Street, Barkerend, was killed when he was hit by a lorry in Valley Road, Shipley, on February 23 this year.
Lou Brocklehurst, who is the cousin of Issac's mum Gemma, said: "We are heartbroken. There are no words really.
"I cannot believe that someone could prey on something like this.
"We are totally devastated by it."
She added: "It is one of those things where you like to think people wouldn't target those in a vulnerable position.
"But they see any opportunity, I guess.
"Heartbroken is the only way I can describe it, because people have been so generous and then someone can take that away from us."
Tara Lopez Moreno, who raised money for the family, said: "It is unbelievable. I am absolutely stunned.
"Gemma's mum rang me up in absolute floods of tears. And Gemma was absolutely frantic when she rang me."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the alleged theft had been reported, and added: "We arrested a 19-year-old female yesterday who has been interviewed at a police station and released on bail."
After news of the arrest broke, a person contacted the Telegraph & Argus to offer to cover any money lost. They wanted to stay anonymous, but said: "If there is still a short fall I would like to cover this."
