Second minicab stolen in Bradford as driver helps passenger

ANOTHER minicab has been stolen as the driver was outside the vehicle helping a passenger in separate incidents, it has emerged.
A silver Toyota Avensis was stolen from the customer car park at Morrisons' store in Mayo Avenue, Bradford.
The car belonged to a driver who works for A1 Wibsey. He was helping his passenger, a woman in her 50s, put her shopping bags into the boot of the vehicle but the thief jumped in and drove off just as the last shopping bag was placed into the car.
The car was driven off towards Manchester Road, where it was involved in an accident with another vehicle before heading off.
It was found in Yateholm Drive, Clayton Heights, Bradford, about an hour after it had been stolen.
The thieves had stolen the vehicle's registration and private hire plates. There was also damage to the door and wheel arch of the rear passenger side of the car.
Akeel Ahmed, manager at A1 Wibsey, based in Odsal Road, Wibsey, said: "It's shocking.
"Should our drivers not go out of their cars now to help our customers anymore?
"The driver whose car was taken is disappointed and heartbroken.
"He was doing a favour for his passenger by helping her put away her shopping bags.
"It seems like some scumbag was waiting for an opportunity to jump in a car. They must have been there for a while and then they have gone for it. It's a keyless car too.
