FURTHER tributes have been paid to a father-to-be shot outside his home.
Imran Khan, 30, was targeted in Round Street, West Bowling, on Monday at about 8pm. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Two men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and released on bail yesterday.
A third man aged 30, was being held last night after he was arrested on suspicion of murder later on Tuesday.
Mr Khan's widow is due to give birth to a girl next month, which would have been his first child.
Yesterday, family, friends and neighbours paid further tribute to Mr Khan, who was known as Kalay.
Sister Jawaria Khan, 25, said the family was still in shock.
"We have no idea why who shot him did it. It is a mystery to us," she said.
"Nothing prepared us for this, there was no reason for us to expect anything like this to happen to him or us."
Miss Khan, who has three other brothers, said her sister-in-law was not coping well.
"They’d only been shopping for baby stuff the day he was shot. She is not doing well. We are all in shock," she said.
“My brother was looking forward to becoming a dad for the first time and now he will never see his baby. He knew it was going to be a girl.”
The family also faces an agonising wait for Mr Khan’s body to be released so they can have his funeral.
“My brother worked hard. He had two jobs working at a warehouse then as a delivery driver. He was a good person, he loved his family.”
Flowers have been left in the alleyway where Mr Khan was shot near his home and forensic examiners were continuing their investigations yesterday. Detectives were also conducting door-to-door inquiries.
Mr Khan’s next door neighbour, who only wished to be referred to as Mrs Begum, described the killing as a nightmare.
“I have lived here since 1995 and have never known anything like this. Everyone is shocked.
