Man arrested over fatal hit-and-run in Idle Road, Eccleshill

A MAN has been arrested after a 71-year-old pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run.
The 28-year-old Bradford man is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.
The incident happened at around 6.25pm yesterday in Idle Road, Eccleshill, Bradford.
A blue Peugeot Bipper van collided with the 71-year-old man near the junction with Myers Lane, police said.


The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later. 
A police spokesman said: “The vehicle, which had been heading in the direction of BoltonRoad at the time of the collision, left the scene down Myers Lane.
“It was found parked up in nearby street at about 8pm.”
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the movements of the van or the victim in the moments leading up to it.
