Two charged over Laisteridge Lane incident

TWO men, accused of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with a shooting incident in Bradford, were removed from court after protesting about the prosecution case.
Mohammed Hanees Shabhir and Mohammed Asim Khan, both 32, were taken back to the cells part-way through a 30-minute hearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court yesterday after shouting out that the case against them was “a joke”.
They continued to protest as they were led away down the steps from the courtroom.
Shabhir, of Spencer Road, Great Horton, Bradford, and Khan, of Park Hill Drive,Rhodesway, Bradford, are charged with possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life in Laisteridge Lane, Bradford, on September 1.
It is alleged that a double-barrelled pump action shotgun was discharged into the air outside a car wash.
Prosecutor Linda Fowler told the magistrates that police were investigating a separate road traffic collision soon after at the junction of Legrams Lane and Shearbridge Road to see if there was a connection.
Mrs Fowler said the charges were indictable only and the case would have to be sent to the crown court for trial.
