FIFTY nine guns were seized from a Bradford house and business as part of an operation involving armed officers from five police forces from across the UK.

During the operation a car was stopped in Old Road, Bradford, and 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply prohibited weapons.


After the arrest police searched a house and business premises in Bradford, recovering 59 firearms.

Police from the West Yorkshire, West Midlands, South Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside carried out the operation on Tuesday under the command of the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Organised Crime unit.

A vehicle was also stopped on the A38 in the West Midlands area, and two people aged 45 and 37 were arrested on suspicion of possessing prohibited weapons. Six handguns were recovered.
