Fahad Goheer is accused of twice raping a 12-year-old girl in a room at the Ibis Budget hotel in Bradford

A 22-YEAR-OLD man told a 12-year-old girl he had groomed online to “forget about” being underage before raping her twice in a Bradford hotel room, a jury heard.

Fahad Goheer is also accused of telling the girl, who cannot be identified, to “watch her back” if she did not give in to his demands.

Goheer is standing trial at Bradford Crown Court charged with two counts of the rape of a child under the age of 13 and an offence of meeting a child following sexual grooming.

Prosecutor Stephen Wood told the jury that because of the girl’s age, there is “no consent to sexual intercourse arising in this case, it is irrelevant”.

Mr Wood said that on January 21, the girl had been dropped off in Bradford at about 5pm after telling her family she was going to a friend’s birthday party.

She did not return home until about 9.30pm, when she admitted to relatives that she had met a man who had travelled to the city from Rochdale.

Two days later, she was taken to hospital suffering from vaginal bleeding and stomach pains.

The following day, officers from the police child sexual exploitation (CSE) unit spoke to the girl and she said she had met a man she had been talking to on a phone app called Periscope.

In an interview with police from January 25, which was shown to the jury, the girl said she had joined Periscope in August last year.
